Retirees Death Benefits:
When a Retiree passes away, his/her spouse will then become a retiree of the Baltimore City Fire & Police Retirement System.

Note: If a pension check is received after the death of a retiree, you must return it to the F&P Pension Office at 7 East Redwood Street, Baltimore Md. 21202. If a retiree is in good standing, upon their death, the Widow will receive the following benefits:

Retired Fire Officers & Fire Fighters Association $1000
(Add an extra $1000 for accidental death)
Baltimore Fire Officers VEBA Fund * $2000
Baltimore Fire Fighters W&0 Fund * $2000
Baltimore City Life Insurance $7000
*One or the other depending upon Union Local affiliation, not both.

In order to collect City Benefits, you will need the following documents:
1. 6 Certified copies of death certificate.
2. Copies of birth Certificates of Widow & any Minor Children
3. Copies of Marriage Certificate
4. Social Security number of Deceased
5. Social Security Number of widow or any dependant children
