It is with much sadness that the Baltimore City Retired Fire Officers & Fire Fighters Association announces the passing of FF George J. “Jack” Horn Engine 43.
Obituary for Mr. George J. “Jack” Horn
George J. “Jack” Horn, age 88 of Sykesville, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018 after a long illness. Born March 19, 1930 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Carl and Arlene (Dutra) Horn. He was the husband of Mary Catherine Horn, his wife of 63 years.
Jack was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Korean War. He was a Baltimore City Firefighter for 31 years.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children Linda and Earle Harper of Union Bridge, Steve and Liz Horn of Westminster, and Lisa and Randy Fusee of Frederick, grandchildren Lauren Visocsky and her companion Brad Cooke of Finksburg, Curtis Visocsky of Finksburg, Lindsay and Chad Hooper of Asheville, NC, Ethan Horn and Bethan McGarry of Baltimore, Evan Horn and companion Leah Hughes of Baltimore and Tristan Harper of Union Bridge, and great grandchildren Levi, Ayden, and Haylie Visocsky, and Ashby Hooper.
He was predeceased by his sisters Arlene, Mary, Helen, Bettyann, Alice, Lucy and Caroline, and by his granddaughter Jessica Harper.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 5pm – 8pm at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.
Funeral liturgy will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Community, 915 Liberty Road, Eldersburg. Interment in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Marriottsville.
