    ***Pension Litigation-Update***

Below is from the Fire Officers pension attorney, Mr. Robert Klausner:

After a delay occasioned by the passing of former President George HW Bush, closing arguments were held in the pension litigation. Judge Julie Rubin heard argument on Friday January’s 4th from Local 964 counsel Robert Klausner focusing on the personal effect of the benefit reduction and Class lead counsel Charlie Monk discussing the evidence which supported the claims of both retired and active members. The City lawyers focused on the financial circumstances of the City in 2010 as a justification for the pension changes. After a 4 hour hearing, Judge Rubin took the matter under advisement explaining that she will be writing a comprehensive opinion and ruling which is expected within the next few weeks.
