Just found from John’s son Mike that John almost passed away last week. He said he seems to be improving but still not out of the woods yet. He is in the hospital on the Eastern Shore, I don’t know if he is allowed victors but am trying to fine out. Prayers are needed and I will keep everyone up to date as I get additional information.

John is a true gentleman and was a joy to work for/with and will be in my prayers. Too many memories of the good old days to recount here, just know he was one of the best and made the job a fun career every day. God Bless John and his family.
Rick thanks for the info on John. He is one great guy. Will try to get over to PRMC to see John. We were in the same class at Fire Academy and worked a few fires together over the years. The last I saw him was at the Y in Salisbury a few years ago while he was playing some basketball and he was doing good then. Will keep him in my prayers and hope for a quick recovery.
Visited John today, he is very ill…turned 81 this week….keep him & his family in your prayers during this difficult time…one fine man, tough old bird…still feisty as ever.
I also visited John today as well and Terry came in I didn’t recognize him at first. We are all getting older and eyesight is one of first to go.
John is still very ill but from what Gracie told me he is much improved from that week.
Have a photo of him and Gracie in the hospital but I don’t if you can post on the forum or how too.
John and Mascary and I were in the same class at the academy,(Class of 9/18/61)and what a great FF. Worked many years together when he was a FF at T 23 FUN Guy to be around. My Prayers are for a speedy recovery for you Brother. Earl
Visited John yesterday and found him in good spirits even though he has been through a rough time lately. He is still the tough tiger that I remember when we started out in 1961 and will not give up without a fight. He likes having visitors and it lifts his spirits so if you are close by stop and see him. He said Marty Loftus came in to see him the day before and Charlie Carroll came in while I was there. Please keep him in your prayers as he goes through these rough times. Hang in there John.
