    It is with much sadness that the Baltimore City Retired Fire Officers and Fire Fighters Association announces the passing of Fire Fighter Allen Ensign Bramble, Jr. Engine 6.

    Fire Department Service 37 Years, 2 Months, 4 Days

    On Retirement 28 Years, 5 Months, 1 Day

    Retirees Association Member 28 Years, 5 Months, 3 Days

    Age 87 Years, 6 Months, 25 Days.

    July 03, 1931 – January 27, 2019

    Obituary for Allen Ensign Bramble, Jr.
    ALLEN ENSIGN BRAMBLE, JR., 87 of Forest Hill, MD, died on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Forest Hill Heights, MD. He was the beloved husband of the late Virginia May (Wallace) Bramble, who died April 16, 2015.

    Born July 3, 1931 in Baltimore, MD, he was a son of the late Allen Ensign and Loula Grace (Klein) Bramble. Serving in the Korea War for two tours, Allen was a decorated Marine Corp Veteran and recipient of two Purple Hearts. After serving our country for 6 years, he went on to work as a fire fighter for Baltimore City Fire Department, Engine Co. #6 for 40 years, retiring in 1990.

    Allen is survived by;
    His daughter, Sandra Bramble McLhinney of Abingdon, MD

    Two grandchildren;
    Patrick McLhinney (Alyse) of Bel Air, MD
    Dan McLhinney of Abingdon, MD

    Great-grandson, Nolan Patrick McLhinney

    He is preceded in death by his brother, Timothy, and great-grandson, Oliver Allen McLhinney who passed away January 24, 2019.

    I In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Allen’s name may be made to the Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation for Cancer Life Net, 520 Upper Chesapeake Drive, Suite 405, Bel Air, MD 21014-4324.

    My brother and I knew Al long before we joined the BCFD as he was our uncle’s, BC 2 Al Stanek, driver. He was among the best!
