ObituaryOn December 16, 2019 Joseph C. Schwing, served with the Baltimore City Fire Department from 1963-2001, received his AA Degree in Fire Science, served 3 years in the Navy, enjoyed soccer and football and coaching basketball at St. Michael the Archangel School. He was the beloved husband for 55 years to Shelby J. (nee McCarty) Schwing; devoted father of Joseph C. Schwing, Jr. and his wife Bunny, Jeffrey Schwing and his wife Solita; loving grandfather of Michael, Stephani, Jeffrey and Megan; cherished great-grandfather of Aiden and Aubrielle; dear brother of Louise Kulakowski and the late William Schwing, and the late Mary Myrick; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Lassahn Funeral Home, Inc. 7401 Belair Road on Saturday, December 21, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at 3pm. Interment is private. If desired memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
